World Aids Day

Some people think that being Hiv+ isn't so bad - that it is manageable disease.

and I tell you it ain't pretty when you don't want to go out because, you might be getting a bout of the shits, it ain't fun to always need to be close to a safe toilet.

that when you do go out, you have to consider, what you eat might do to your guts, that will set you " off "

it ain't fun, when you look in the mirror and wonder when your are going to lose your looks.

Yes, I'm pretty, considered studly - yes - all that from working out - its to manage my stress

and I hate going out to bars now, because all these guys hit on me, and at some point I tell them my status - (cause thats the way I am), and then they respond - " ah - Dude, I don't want to die - so no thanks "

and I'm thinking " you weren't planning on using a condom? "

-

and there are side effects from the drugs that make the whole thing "manageable" - like constant headaches - or sometimes you just don't like that way food smells (that one, they don't tell you about - its not a real side effect)

For now, I'm thankful that I don't have these side effects...

the drug fucks up your kidneys, or your liver...

and so far, no hump on my back and no sunken face - I only have to worry about when, it might happen.

- and at first - the dreams were cool - it was like an acid trip, but I'm tired of them now - why do I dream what I dream - those people and things are on my past - I've let go of them - enough already

-

You wonder if you have saved enough for your retirement - the one you weren't planning on living for - or if you will actually live to retire

you want to quit working now, so you can enjoy what life you have left - but you aren't built that way, and beside social security and disability - just ain't enough money

and you hope that you live long enough get the trust fund that your dad set up for you - what you don't have a trust fund?

yes, its manageable, my being hiv+ - but I have friends that it's not manageable anymore - they are getting sicker, they are are constantly trying new drugs - some of them are dying - some are dead - just not buried

so for your sake, your family's sake and the sake of your friends use a rubber, help someone out, by donating time and money to your local aids charity, and spread the word that

" being manageable " is not an option

that " thinking " someone is negative and so you " don't need a rubber " is not an option...

Do the right thing and take care of yourself
